We only use trees from planted forests and second-growth forests in Japan. Second-growth forests account for approximately 55% of Japan’s forests, and some trees are over 100 years old. We work hard to create high-quality products, which will last at least as many years as the age of the trees used in those products.
Using solid wood (as opposed to plywood or veneer), we try to utilize a given tree as much as possible by creating a wide range of products. We produce small products like accessories, stationary, tableware, small interior articles and smaller furniture from thinner parts of trees while we make larger furniture and buildings from the trunks of trees.
Through our affiliated NPO, Acorn Club (Donguri no Kai), we plant and nurture broad-leaved trees to increase the diversity in our forests. Our aim is to revive the health of our ecosystem and to provide an opportunity for people of all ages and organizations, including corporations, to participate in forestry activities while learning about the environment.
